The Google Cash Detective

Having finally succumbed to the curiosity this has been generating, we have to say that on an initial look around it actually is genuinely impressive. If you are an affiliate marketer using adwords campaigns, we highly recommend you take a look.

Don't worry about the Mexican beach scenes and overly long video - to get to the meat of what Google Cash Detective is all about you will have to give up your email address, but it is worth doing even if only to get a look at how this technology works. We recommend you skip all the fluffy YouTube nonsense and just look at the program.

If you don't already spend money on pay per click advertising, this could well change your mind, and it would certainly seem entirely possible that it will have an absolutely amazing effect on the profitability of any affiliate program you are a part of.
I've deliberately avoided using the hyped up ads you may have seen already because I think the program warrants a serious look and looks entirely capable of actually delivering what it promises.

Check Out Google Cash Detective Here

If having seen the presentation, you're still not convinced of Chris Carpenter's qualifications, he is the author of Google Cash, one of the most successful and influential books on Google Adwords ever written. Google Cash is one e-book that we have no hesitation in recommending as it gives a genuine blueprint on how to earn money with affiliate programs and Google Adwords campaigns. Without doubt one of the most informative guides to making money online ever produced.

Best Value Web Hosting - Kiosk.ws

There are literally thousands of web hosting deals around today and plenty of advice on which are the best. What it really boils down to is which hosting deal is best for YOU.

We have been following the fortunes of various hosting companies over the years and our website tries to give a selection of companies who we believe offer service and value to customers. There are plenty of hosting directories out there, but the problem is that they can be so overwhelming, such is the huge number of companies reviewed. It is for this reason we have kept ours small, hopefully making it simpler for people to make an informed choice - The Cayman Host Directory can be found here.

As a reader of this blog you are probably active in marketing online, in one form or another, and may well already have a hosting deal with which you are happy. If you are looking to move, or are wondering just where to start, we recommend taking a look at what Kiosk has to offer. Marketers have long been a target market for Kiosk and as a result, their packages are geared towards those of us who need specialist services - and their services are probably the best you will find.

Since relaunching their corporate website last month, visitors can now physically 'use' all of the marketing aids and hosting features right from the site and see exactly what they will be getting with their hosting deal. I'm not certain that any other host offers such a candid look behind all the gilded promises and can highly recommend a tour of the Kiosk.ws web hosting demo page.

You will note that there is currently a $1 trial offer - there is no catch here either, you can use all of the Titanium Plan's hosting services for a full month, with no obligation. If you don't like it, you simply cancel after the month is up.

In our time with Kiosk, we have never been more than 100% satisfied with their service and support, and the ease of use (C-Panel and Fantastico for managing everything) which genuinely is 24/7 and accessed through live hot conference technology - no phone charges wherever you are in the world. The testimonials on the site speak volumes about the service and the sense of community fostered among fellow webmasters makes for an even better user experience.

Still the recommended web hosting service of choice - Kiosk.ws Web Hosting

Google Adsense Alternatives

With all the hype surrounding Adsense these days you could be forgiven for thinking that it is just about the only way to monetize your blog or website, when, in actual fact there are plenty of alternatives available to both advertisers and publishers. It has become progressively harder to earn money with Adsense, and, it would seem, set to get even more difficult in light of the latest clampdowns on cheaters. I'm all for shutting down the people who dishonestly waste advertiser's money by attempting to generate fraudulent and artificial clicks, but at the same time, sympathize with the little guys who inevitably get caught up in the witch hunt.

I always advocate keeping your options open when it comes to pay per click, and here are a couple of advertising options you may want to consider as alternatives, whether you are an advertiser or publisher. Sure, they are not as big as Google, but all have served me reasonably well as a publisher on various sites.

1) Bidvertiser  have been around for a while and offer pretty much the same look and feel as Google. I have been happy with the results from the company and they offer a good introductory deal to advertisers too.

2) Text Link Ads - Recently made several improvements to their service making it a lot more attractive to both advertisersand publishers. Well worth checking out and one to watch  for the future.

3) Pheedo  - Another choice for bloggers/webmasters and attractive if you are looking for simple ways to monetize your RSS Feeds. The only disappointing thing about Pheedo is that there is no referral or affiliate program as yet. Still recommended though, particularly for RSS.

4) ExoClick  - Not particularly well known and can throw up the occasional adult related ad, so if that's a problem for you they might not be  for you as a publisher. Having said that, worth a look and they do  operate a referral program too.

5) Kontera - Saving the best for last. Their terms mean that the service is pretty much restricted to high traffic sites - however, they do make exceptions so applying and putting your case forward is well worth it. Their ad format enhances a site without being too intrusive and generates far better click through ratios than traditional static advertising. A definite thumbs up for a very innovative contextual ad solution, despite no referral bonuses.

For some, an even more attractive alternative may be something like CBProads. This is not a PPC model but a pay per sale deal and if you have the traffic you can potentially make money faster than with PPC ads. The ads are contextual and can be customized to fit your pages. They link to the huge database of Clickbank products and even if you have a niche specific site you can target relevant ads from within the the members area and offer products your readers might genuinely be interested in. It's free to sign up to CBProads and adding to your site is the usual simple addition of a line of code in the relevant place.

There are of course many others out there including Yahoo, we would love to hear from people about their experiences with any pay per click or Pay per sale solutions they have tried, so please leave your comments to help others out.

Article Marketing - Is The Writing On The Wall?

The increase in article marketing is easily explained by the fact that it represents a win-win for everyone.

Authors get to spread their words of wisdom across the web for free, and create search engine friendly backlinks, often from directories with very good page ranks. Provided publishers follow the  rules, they will also have their own links in front of a lot more eyes.

Publishers get to grab free content from a choice of hundreds of directories to use on their blogs or websites without fear of copyright infringement or other problems further down the line. Great time saver for busy webmasters, and often great content that helps them grow their readership.

Article directory owners achieve good page rank and a lot of traffic from both Publishers and Authors, plus keyword soaked content for any keyword you care to imagine. What is more, far greater potential on the pay per click advertising and any other kind of advertising that they place at their sites . Furthermore they can build an op-in list extremely quickly from membership signups, a list to which they can market their own and affiliate products and services,

So, with all that going for the business that has become known as article marketing, all in the garden should be rosy right?

Well, you would think so - there are very few, if any, forms of marketing that deal an all round fair and beneficial hand like this, and yet, there are rumblings that all is not well in the article marketing arena. For anyone reading this, I'd like you to consider the following, no matter in which of the above mentioned groups you number yourself.

There is a disturbing trend among some of the higher ranked directories to start charging "membership" or "submission" fees to the very people who did all the work to put them where they are today. Without authors, directories would be nowhere. Yes, your service is valuable to the authors, no doubt about that, but it is their content that brings your traffic and therefore the potential for you to make money.

I know that with the introduction of article submission software, directories are dealing with higher numbers of articles than ever before (more of that in a moment) and that to a degree you are becoming victims of your own success but biting the hand that feeds smacks of greed and I for one will never submit to a directory that considers it has a right to charge me for my work. $10 for the privilege of giving you something that your site can't do without? Please. Don't tell me there are not other ways to control the  quantity and quality of submissions - you can ban constant offenders for example (maybe it burns to lose even one opt-in address though?). I hope you see the reasoning on the greed angle - money does not equal credibility or whatever other lame reasons people might give to defend it - if your hosting costs have increased because of increased bandwidth usage, that's a tough one. Like I say, victims of your own success. You can't pass that cost on to your suppliers, and at the very least your ethics are questionable if you try to do so.

So how about authors? Well, since people began to latch on to this good thing, article production has stepped up hugely but inevitably, quantity has far begun to outweigh quality, and many directories are unhappy about having to wade through illiterate dross from people purely interested in trying to make a fast buck. I sympathize with this, and say to anyone who wants to write content - it is not purely an exercise in keywords and the great god Google. If you submit useless and worthless drivel, nobody wins - your articles will  end on the cutting room floor where they belong. Burying the directories in poorly written, grammatically mangled, ill disguised ads, helps no-one. You are wasting your own time and everyone else's. And authors, take a stand against money grubbing directories by simply ignoring them and letting them fall alongside the dwindling page rank which is sure to follow - the one they believe gives them the right to stiff you.

And so to publishers - most of whom are honest and abide by the rules - but for those that don't, bear this in mind. You can pretty much edit article content any way you see fit, but by copying the content in the first place you have agreed to leave the author's resource box completely untouched - that means no disabling hyperlinks, changing the anchor text, or deleting any part of those few lines whatsoever. If you really have a problem with that, well, write your own damn content! I certainly urge all authors to report abuse of their rights whenever they see them. I appreciate that it's sometimes impossible because some publishers delete resource boxes and also any reference to the directory from which they have now "stolen" articles.

So wise up folks - the original idea still works and if it ain't broke don't fix it. Unless you all behave like grown adults and retain at least a little integrity, honesty, some good old fashioned values and show respect for your fellows in this game, your little cash cow will soon be on it's knees and you can crybaby all you like about it after it's too late.

The One Thing All Marketers Need To Develop

I was sitting at this keyboard today after a night of some frustration over the whole internet marketing thing and it struck me that there is one essential ingredient you must develop if you are to have any success.

It has got nothing to do with niche marketing, article marketing, Google Adsense, safelists, traffic exchanges,  classified ads or most of the other things that people tell you you should be practicing.

I came to the conclusion that, first and foremost, what you need is a thick skin. I was thinking this after reading several things online yesterday which I'll share with you now.

It strikes me that by deciding to try and earn money online, a large part of the internet community will cast you into some "pariah's pool" where you are viewed as the lowest of the low for daring to try and break some of the every day chains, particularly financial ones, that you feel are restricting you. To have any kind of hope of making money online simply seems to offend a large number of people.

Yesterday I read an article by a supposed expert marketer in which he completely ridiculed virtually every method of traffic generation and advertising avenue open to the folks who don't have any money to spend. It was a very self promotional "look at me" piece of writing, which actually made the man who wrote it very dislikeable, so I suppose his methods of marketing work?

Following on from this I read a piece on Adsense by a chap who had consistently been shut down by Google for alleged breaches of their T.O.S. - if it's ever happened to you, you'll know that it usually comes just before the payout date of the first, and usually very hard won, $100. His point was not so much the fact of it happening, but the heavy handedness that goes with it and the complete refusal to explain what you are being accused of having done wrong. I know there are a lot of dishonest people doing whatever they can to grab a piece of the Adsense pie, but he had made sure he followed the rules, yet to this day, whatever the indiscretions, he never found out.

Sure, it would have been easy enough to set up a new account, and he did, with similar results each time until he started an Adwords campaign of his own, only to be banned again shortly afterwards. I've always thought just how easily an unscrupulous individual could get anybody's account closed down. Sure, that's unethical in the extreme, but I'm absolutely sure it happens and Google's stance makes it virtually impossible for the affected party to defend themselves. If it's decided that fraudulent clicks have been generated from your pages, you're out, no debate. I know that many people rely on contextual ads for income, my only advice would be not to put all of your eggs in one basket.

Moving along, I then read a comment at a torrent site regarding an e-book - the commenter had eloquently stated "otheerwise(sic) know (sic) as spam". I wondered how anyone, particularly someone at a torrent site who had obviously made a conscious choice to download a free file, could then have the audacity to cry "spam" - perhaps if one of his/her illegal music downloads had disappointed in some way, that would be spam too.

Then there are those in the blogging "community" who are up in arms about the latest "sponsored postings" and I wonder why they are so offended by people trying to make an honest buck. They seem insistent that anyone being paid to post on their own blog, should have to declare it to them, whoever they are. Self appointed internet policemen.....I have to wonder at their motives. If I read a blog post which is in effect an advertisement, I'm big enough and ugly enough to recognize it as such and it's my choice to disregard it, act on it or whatever else. Product endorsement has long been a lucrative sideline for sports stars, actors, TV "personalities" etc. etc. etc. but the view still seems to be that it is somehow "dirty" for an average person to do the same. That my dear readers, is hypocrisy and plain nonsense.

All I'm saying in this little rant is that you would be wise to develop that thick skin I mentioned. If you are one of many thousands struggling to better your lot through your online efforts, don't let the doubters and dream stealers (I saw that somewhere else the other day), get to you too much. Advertising is still not a crime, no matter who is doing it. If you've decided to seek your ticket on the internet, persevere and keep learning wherever you can, and when you prevail you may contentedly thumb your nose at the cynics!

Starting A New Online Business For Beginners

A lot of people believe that making money online is difficult, if not virtually impossible. Then again, many would have you believe that it's as easy as taking candy from a baby!

The truth of the matter probably lies somewhere in between. If you are looking to make your first foray into earning money from the internet, remember that you will probably face a lot of disappointment before you see any results. If there are any "miracle" money makers they are few and far between, so you will have to resign yourself to some long hours and a steep learning curve.

If you are just setting out on your online adventure here are just a couple of the basics, things you will need to start your journey - all are essential if you are to achieve anything at all.

1) Your Own Domain Name This is your identity, your address on the massive global street that is the internet. Without an address no-one will ever find you, just as in 'real life'. Think hard about your domain, this is your stamp on the web, so choose a domain name that is relevant to your business and one that is easy to remember. You can buy as many names as you wish of course, dependent on the depth of your pockets.

2) A Hosting Company This is the place where your "virtual business" will reside and from where the world at large can access it. Poor hosting will cripple your online business, so choose wisely. It is easy to be seduced by the attention grabbing, low priced and highly hyped deals plastered across the web but you will find that you get what you pay for in the end.

3) A Business (A Product or Service) You may already have a clear idea of what you are going to sell online or you may be wondering just what you can possibly do. This is an important decision, but, even if you have no product/service of your own there are plenty of avenues open to you, selling for other people/companies for a start. We will be discussing all these things as the blog progresses.

Today, let's just deal with the first two issues. Firstly, your domain name. This can be pretty much whatever you choose, providing the name hasn't already been taken by somebody else. Once you've decided what you want, you can go shopping and there are plenty of places to go. Shop around because when it comes to registering a name, prices will vary enormously. Some offers will be conditional upon hosting the domain with a particular company, but don't be bullied into buying a hosting account you don't think suits your needs, just to get a cheap domain registration deal.

Secondly, your hosting provider. If you don't know much, or anything, about hosting, do some research online. If you're unsure about committing yourself, try and find other customers and get their feedback on service, features and reliability. A search for web hosting guides for beginners would be a good starting point.

Our recommendation when it comes to hosting is always Kiosk.ws for a number of reasons. Their service, support and reliability are second to none and it's always good to know that help is at hand should you need it. There is a very active users forum too, which can certainly benefit a new user. Unlike some hosts, they will not shut you down as soon as someone makes a spam complaint against your domain, unfounded or otherwise. Some of the internet's top marketers use their services, so,rest assured you are choosing a solid company. Customer care is excellent and their support really is live and 24/7 - most help desk tickets answered within an hour and a live hot conference support room that all members can access, manned by some great staff.

If you like what you see there, you can register your domain and have it set up on their servers in minutes and this applies equally if you already have a name and are looking for a new host. If you decide to use their services you will soon see why so many webmasters, both old hands and complete beginners, are prepared to give such glowing testimonials. You will have so many features available to you, including a huge library of scripts, all installable at the click of a button through Fantastico and your C-Panel. If that means nothing to you, believe me when I say, you will really appreciate the ease of use it provides.

What's more, you will have the option of making money with the company's excellent reseller and affiliate programs - so you could soon be recouping all your initial outlay, your monthly hosting fees and more! Why settle for less........?

If you like, you can go and try it all out with their excellent online demo which will show you exactly what will be at your disposal as a customer - just click here for the demo section

I think you'll agree that not many companies can top that and at the time of writing you can get your first month's hosting for a single dollar, no contract, no risk. Getting your domain and website set up couldn't be simpler.

Whatever your eventual choice, you will soon be ready to build your first site and opening your business to a whole new world of opportunity. Enjoy your adventure, but come back soon!

What Is Reseller Hosting?

A reseller is simply defined as someone who sells something, be it product or service, to an end user, and who makes a profit on such sales. In a nutshell, that is what Reseller hosting is. A reseller buys a Web hosting package from a hosting company and then tries to sell it independently. Usually the reseller's profit lies in either the discount or the commission they get for selling each hosting account.

You can also earn commissions from a hosting company, by referring customers to their services - basically through an affiliate plan. Sometimes a commission will take the form of a percentage paid once only, and at others, the reseller will be paid recurring monthly commissions for as long as the customer remains with the host. Usually the reseller needs to be a customer himself if he is to take advantage of such a plan. Some hosting companies even extend their terms to a multi level marketing plan whereby resellers earn money not only for customers they refer directly, but also for the customers of other resellers/affiliates who they recruit into the business. Our very own host offers just such a deal, and it can be very rewarding!

A high number of web hosting companies try to outsource their services to resellers as it helps them to extend their business reach without such high costs in respect of marketing and sales and enables them to focus more on the business aspects of their operation.

As a reseller, it is down to you just what services you sell - shared, dedicated or co-location web hosting, merchant hosting, store front accounts - the choices are pretty wide ranging. As a hosting reseller it is also wise to offer related services such as domain name registration. Read Full Article
