16/01: Make Money Online - PLR and Resell Rights

Today I am returning to the make money online series with a look at  selling digital products and software online.  Despite the  relative simplicity of the subject, many people think that it is either too difficult or too much hassle to get involved.

I have to say that this is a mistake, because it really is an effective and profitable undertaking for anyone who is prepared to put  in the work. I'm going to break this down into a few areas and hopefully, it will inspire you to do some further reading on how  to make money online by selling either your own digital products, or those created by others.

Before going any further, there are just a few basic things you are going to need.

1) A web hosting service - see my hosting directory for plenty of affordable choices.

2) A PayPal Account

3) A ClickBank Account

There, not too painful so far. If you already have all of these things you're pretty much good to go. There are plenty of payment processors available, but in the interests of keeping it simple, we'll stick with those for now.

So where do you begin? There are literally thousands of products available for you to choose from either as an affiliate or a reseller. As an affiliate, you can promote any of ClickBank's huge range of products, but competition is often fierce and many people find it difficult to make any real inroads. That's not to say you can't make money with their products but a lot will depend on how you choose your products and how you promote them to your target audience.

Selling your own products via ClickBank will be dealt with another time as I want to stay focused on helping you make money as quickly and simply as possible - utilizing other people's work!

The other alternative, and my preferred system, is to become a reseller. If you've never heard of Private Label Rights, Master Resell Rights and Resell Rights, I recommend you learn more about the subject, because they can be great revenue generators.

It's all beginning to sound a bit complicated? Well, don't worry, because it really isn't. The trick is, to find yourself some products that are offered with any of the aforementioned rights.

How the heck do you do that? Well, if you're prepared to keep reading, my next post is going to direct you to a huge repository of digital products and software, all of which you can get your hands on for free. I'm talking a momentous amount - something for everyone and we're not talking just poor quality ebooks either. Whatever your niche, you should find something worthy of your attention.

Finding a product that is likely to sell isn't really too difficult. I work on the basis that if it's something I want or need to help my online business grow, then there will be thousands of other people who are seeking the same thing. A product that fills such a need is likely to be popular with consumers. If something is slow to sell, try something else - there are no limits to what you can sell after all.

A great deal of resell and PLR products come with a ready made sales page. Provided you can edit a simple bit of HTML you will have no problem customizing it with your own details. It's then ready to be uploaded to your host, and you can promote it. The  beauty is, that you can set your own price, and keep all of the profits yourself.

You might be thinking, that sounds too simple.....there must be more to it than that. Trust me, it isn't rocket science and if you're reasonably PC literate and are prepared to spend a little time setting up and promoting your products, you will make money :-) We'll explore promotion further in due course.

OK, to recap - deal with the three things you need to get started as set out above. Get ready for my next post which will help you find some products to sell. When you have downloaded the products of your choice, you will need to follow the instructions that come with each individual item in order to set up your personalized sales and order pages (I'll cover that in more detail so don't fret).

If you think you can't do this or are still baulking at spending a dime online  to invest in your own success, then I concede it's not for you, but if you are looking for ways to earn money with only a minimal initial outlay, don't miss the upcoming posts.

For the die hard freebie seekers, I'll give you a couple of crumbs of comfort.......

You can get a free membership to this site and promote it to others - there are over 150 digital products available and you get to keep 50% of any sales you make as a free member or 100% if you decide to upgrade. Does it work? Well, it can do, and it's totally free and without risk. If you like that sort of thing, you might want to try it in lieu of doing things for yourself.

Another totally free alternative, and pretty unique, is the new Passive ProfitRobot. It makes some big promises but whether or not it will work for you can only be answered by giving it a try. Another risk free option that might well be worth a look.

If I've piqued your interst and you want to learn more about the mechanics of the ideas outlined above, subscribe and you won't miss the next posts, where I will show you exactly what to do next and how to start seeing "notification of payment received" in your PayPal account!

Alot of great advice here, Mo. I've always used ClickBank because of their affiliate network. There are so many people who have promoted my products it's crazy. The one thing I HATE about CB though is the fact that they allow others to buy through their own link, which wouldn't be too big of a deal, but when someone promotes someone elses product to their list, for example, and those subscribers just buy through their own link, the person who is promoting the product just loses the commission. Anyway, I'm still with CB, but I'm testing out PayDotCom, which is much better, but has a smaller affiliate network.

Also, Tim Gorman has an excellent report out titled "Netsense PLR." Great guide for those looking to get into the PLR game.

Hi Josh,

I think your concerns about Clickbank policies are commonplace for vendors and it is a bit of a thorny one, but, as you say, with such a huge network they are hard to ignore if you want to sell products of your own. I'm a PayDotCom affiliate too,so I'll still be able to advertise your wares if you make the switch :-)

Thanks for the heads up on Tim's report, I'm going to be giving away a couple of free PLR guides in my next post too, but I'll certainly check that one out.

P.S please email me about DLGuard if you have an affiliate link. All will become clear in good time! .

Niice article, I'm in to MRR and PLR stuff and make some money from it. Now I'm still researching the best strategy to promote those products so we can get the maximum results.

Do you have any recommendation what is the best ebook or resources should I read about promoting PLR and MRR?

Thanks, I really appreciate your writings.
