23/05: Making Big Money Online - Another Expert Speaks Out

Let me tell you a little story. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin....

I often fill my idle time surfing one or two of the better traffic exchanges. Sure it may be a waste of time to some, but it's always interesting to see what  they throw up and has the beneficial sideline of a bit of free advertising, so I never discount them completely. Today, I saw the usual raft of dreamers, pushing garish graphics, outlandish claims and a few irritating videos promising to make me a millionaire by the weekend if I'd only give them my email address blah blah blah.....

However, I digress. I was visiting an interesting blog and viewing some of the comments when I came across a rather long spiel by one individual agreeing with the blog's author about not believing everything you read online. Before you know it he has launched into a completely blatant advertisement for his site and bragging about "I really do make money online every single day" and "you can have my phone number, so it must be true" etc etc etc. Now, aside from the very poor form of not even bothering to try and disguise your plug on someone else's blog as a genuine comment, his narrative was peppered with more typos/spelling errors than you could shake a stick at. Very professional, but it worked because I wanted to see more......

Now, here's the thing. The individual in question was expertly advising anyone who was considering joining a program, to do a search on their upline member's names before committing to anything. Fair enough I suppose, not that it's likely to tell you much nine times out of ten, but he was at least attempting to sound like an expert. I think what he was really advocating was to check the program itself, but got lost in his comparisons with showing every online business to bank managers and being laughed out of the building. (Aside from his, naturally). I tell you, there was no pulling the wool over this fella's eyes, but then he really does make money online, every day no less, so let's listen to him eh? 

I find my way to a website - it's nicely designed and has the now obligatory video embedded right at the start. Hmmm...sorry to say I didn't watch it but I did notice a long list of affiliate programs in the left margin and the majority were the name dropping kind. You know, some minor "celebrity" trying to foist some garbage or other on the unfortunate hopefuls. As I said I didn't watch the video and contrary to popular belief, not everybody wants to be assaulted by these nauseating sales pitches in technicolor and surround sound. Just because it's possible doesn't always make it desirable. But, once more I digress......let's see about this site shall we, just as our expert suggests.

Well, he has a hit counter which doesn't really fit in with the attempt at slickness. I mean, do we really care? I've never understood the desire for displaying your traffic,or in this case extreme lack of it, to visitors. So, not much traffic, barely a thousand hits. Good old Alexa gives us a page ranking well above  4 million and several hundred thousand.......even lower than this few week old blog.

Did I even think about signing up for what this guy was pushing.......? If you learn one thing in life about bragging, it should be that you can back it up with facts; meaning hard proof. I mean, I make money online too, but I wouldn't expect anyone to believe I was Donald Trump just because I say it's so. Anyone can make money online, but making a really good income is not the easy ride so many people will try to convince you of. As with all things, it is possible, but rarely easy.

I guess if so many people didn't line up to be fleeced, the con men would have no audience, but as they say, there really is one born every minute. Now here is my plug for the day.......Don't Miss This One!!!!
