Hi Steven,
Thanks, good to see you here again - yes, it's taking off pretty quickly, there are several ways to start getting the submissions to flow. The difficult part is keeping up with the editing and approval process!
For me, there are the additional technical issues too, dealing with databases and PHP in more new ways. However, if I can do it, anyone can :-)

Looking good :) I've been running article directories for a few years now and I can tell you, if done correctly, they are very profitable. If you want, send me an email reminder and I'll reply with a small gift that you'll benefit from.
The reason I say to send an email is because I'm so far behind I'd never remember to send what I want to send you when we get back to the states. The email will remind me :)

Hi Josh
I've had the script laying around for ages and finally decided to do something with it. I want to ensure that the articles are of good quality and am being quite stringent about construction, spelling, grammar etc.
It makes a lot of work to individually proof read every submission but I don't want to end up with huge numbers and a high percentage of dross. The harsh fact is, that a lot of people just can't write very well - I don't mean to sound arrogant or pompous, but if you can't write, article marketing is maybe not the way to go.
The way I see it, the only way to inspire publishers to come and look through the content, is to make sure it all meets some minimum quality standards.
Anyway, you've got me intrigued, I'll try to remember that email...thanks bud.

That's good to hear. Many article publishers slack on quality. I hope my last comment wasn't offensive. Your article directory looks great and I didn't mean in any way that you are doing anything wrong with it. There are just a few things I've learned to do with that software that will make it stand out even more that I'd like to share with you :)

Hey Josh,
I know you weren't being critical Josh, don't worry :-)
I also know you've been running directories on AD for a while and I've seen some of your discussions/questions in the forums. I'm new to the script so believe me, any tips from a more experienced user will be most welcome - I'll mail you once your vacation is over - go and enjoy yourself and get off the darned computer!!

haha I was hoping no one would see those discussions ;)
This is like a second home and not much of a vacation, so my wife and I are fine with being on here. I really need to hire a VA, but as long as I have WWW access i don't need one :)

Hi Mo, I'm a bit slow, but I just checked the directory out - it's great! If I ever get around to Article Marketing etc, I'll give your directory a try (and yours too Josh!). Might be a while as I have a few other things lined up before I can think about that. Anyway, great work and congratulations as it seems to be taking off!

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for your support. I've been a fan of article marketing for a while, but owning a directory was something I just never got around to doing.
Early signs are good, although it's a lot of work if quality is to be maintained. Once the database has grown to a respectable size, I think it will be easier to be even more selective about the articles I accept - after all, I want my visitors to be able to find content worth using.

05/12: New Free Article Directory From The CaymanHost
One of the reasons for my quiet spell has been the ongoing work at my new free article directory.
It's barely out of the wrapper and there could still be one or two technical glitches to iron out but anyone interested in submitting new content can now do so.
You will see that the site is totally empty at present so if you are an article marketer already, please feel free to include the site in your submission database.
If you are not familiar with article directories or article marketing, perhaps it's time to investigate all the possibilities for your marketing efforts. I recommend ArticleMarketer.com for a quick start to getting your articles out to directories and this site will shortly be publishing content from that source as well as various other places.
If you encounter any problems with the site, do let me know - here's the link
