23/06: Post2Blog Software

Blogging can drive you crazy sometimes and it's always nice to find things that make life that little bit easier....at least in theory. 

Last night I came across an excellent piece of freeware called Post2Blog. Well, I had to check it out and so I downloaded the program to see if it could do what it claimed. Basically, it enables you to post to your blog directly from IE, Firefox, MS Word etc. without the need to actually log into your admin interface. This can be useful in a whole variety of ways and you can also edit previous posts, even if they weren't posted using the program. It can do a host of other things too, so I suggest you download it and have a look at the range of features for yourself. They are pretty comprehensive for a freeware application. 

Initially I couldn't get it to work with my Wordpress blog, but a rummage around in the Wordpress codex forums soon found a fix and it was up and running - this turned out to be very timely as I am currently having problems connecting to my WP admin due to php memory issues that I'm now waiting and hoping my host will have sorted soon. With Post2Blog, at least I was still able to add some new posts. I still haven't figured out how to get it to work with Nucleus and have a support ticket out with the Post2Blog folks which hopefully they can resolve.
