The CaymanHost Web Hosting Directory

We began looking at a review of this company in light of the fact that they have received a number of accolades in the press and scored very highly in consumer polls of UK web hosting companies, and this was one of the reasons we included them in our directory.

They do offer very cheap hosting deals and have been very successful in the UK with both their domain registration and web hosting services, but, since a recent take over by Pipex in 2006 a great number of problems seem to have arisen. Having built a good market reputation it seems that things are currently not well with the company and complaints surrounding their customer service have been rife.

Normally we would expect to see some complaints from customers when dealing with any hosting company but the current level of customer dissatisfaction seems to be extraordinarily high in this case. In light of this, we feel it would be remiss to recommend their services at the present time and we have temporarily removed them from the UK directory. There follow a series of links to other sites on which this is being discussed and we will monitor the situation over the next few months for any improvement in the current situation.

We would add, in the spirit of impartiality and fairness, that having recently gone through a buy-out, problems might have been foreseen and hopefully the current issues will be resolved as things settle down, but, at least temporarily, they do not seem to be coping very well.
